ideals

the ideals we  live by
and discard as we grow
loved ones
heroes
gods
principles

you might  argue there are no ideals
that will stand the test of time
and relegate yourself to a routine life

but there is always love
and kindness
those last things out of
the pandora's box
that will never 
lead you astray
like your ideals

things that your soul
always knows are right

(whether we (read I) have
the strength to live by these ideals
is a different matter)
